Check your high school’s NCAA Core Course List and make sure that you are academically on track for NCAA initial eligibility. Also think about the classes that you will take in your next academic year and how they will help you meet the admissions needs of the schools that you are interested in applying to in the future.

If you fall behind and need to make up a class, make sure that you speak with your guidance counselor. If you have failed a class or wish to improve your grade in a class you have previously taken, many high schools offer a credit recovery or credit retrieval program. The NCAA will accept the new grade and credit for the class if the program meets all of the NCAA requirements for such a program. Ask your guidance office if your school offers this program and if it meets NCAA regulations.
